About the Cub Club

The Cub Club is an organization of aviation enthusiasts interested in preserving and promoting the restoration, maintenance and flying of the long-wing fabric Piper Cubs. The Cub models include the E2, J2, J3, J4, J5, L4, HE-1, PA-11, PA-12, PA-14 and PA-18.

The Cub Club believes in preserving these strong and simple airplanes that are fun to own and fly.

How to Access Members Only Resources

Welcome to the new Cub Club Members Only Section. Currently, the member section includes a traditional forum and a social networking community. 

With this new website is a new way to access the members only content.

New Members

If you are a new member joining from the web, you choose your own username and password when you sign up. When visiting in the future you may use this username/password combination to login. There are several places on the site to login, including the home page and the member community page.

Current Members

If you are a current member, ported from one of the previous websites or joined by paper application you have been added into the system automatically. The following procedure will log you in:

  1. Your username is the email address we have on file for you. If you have changed email addresses or the system does not recognize yours, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so you can be added or updated.
  2. Now that you have your username, head to the login area either on the home page or the member community page.
  3. Select the "Forgot your password?" link and enter your email address.
  4. You will be sent an email message containing a link to click and a verification code.
  5. Enter your username (email address or whatever you have chosen if modified) and the verification code and click "Submit." 
  6. You will be directed to a page where you choose and verify your new password.
  7. Enter your username/password and click "Log In" to enter the members section
  8. In the future, you may use this combination to login. If you ever get stuck, repeat the above procedure to get back in.

Each newsletter features an Events section; The Cub Doctor (sample article) column, by noted Cub authority, Clyde Smith, Jr., known as the Cub Doctor; Construction and Maintenance (sample article); Restoration and Modification (sample article); The Super Cub Page(s) (sample article); Short Subjects; and a For Sale, Wanted and Information Wanted section. Other feature articles include Cub Q & A and Around the Patch, which are contributed by our members. 
  • Free classified ad listings – For sale, Wanted and Information Wanted.
  • Technical Manuals and Paperwork (337s and field approvals) for modifications - available for purchase.
  • Over 400 blueprints for the E2 through the PA-18 - copies available for purchase.
  • Technical assistance from the Cub Club and/or from our volunteer Cub Consultants.
  • Access to a geographical list of Tail wheel Instructors and Mechanics in North America.
  • All 161 back issues of Cub Clues, indexed and available in five 3 -ring binders for $225. The newsletters are an invaluable resource of information on restoration and maintenance. The index is also downloadable (see link) and keyword searches can be done which saves a world of time when researching articles.
  • Cub Club forums at 3 Major Fly-Ins: Sentimental Journey, Lock Haven, PA, in June, Sun ‘n Fun, in Lakeland, FL in April and EAA AirVenture, Oshkosh, WI, in July.

What Does the Website Offer?

As many members may have already noticed, the Cub Club has been offering a website for a number of years now. Our website offers a variety of helpful files and information to members and non-members alike.

For those who are members, the site offers a multitude of options; these include:

  • access to all of the highlighted questions,
  • access to the most recent For Sale, Wanted and Information Wanted Ads,
  • access to a complete listing of instructors and mechanics,
  • a member status box to keep you informed of how long your membership is current until,
  • and a photo gallery where members can upload photos from air shows and browse supplementary newsletter photos.

Non-members will still find the website to be a valuable resource providing a variety of Piper, Luscombe, Continental, and Lycoming Type Certificates, important links to Cub Parts suppliers and other aviation resources, access to the most recent highlighted question and information on becoming a member.
